I am a graduate student in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Seoul National University (SNU), Republic of Korea. I am also a research assistant in the School of Physics at Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS). My advisors are Prof. Yong-Sun Park at SNU and Prof. Changbom Park at KIAS. I expect to defend my dissertation in June, 2019. I have worked with the instrumentation group (Head: Prof. A. N. Ramaprakash) at Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune, India since I entered the graduate school.
My research focus is on astronomical instrumentation and observational astronomy in the areas of optical spectrograph and kinematics/dynamics of galaxies. I am involved in the development of optical multi-IFU spectrograph (DOTIFS) especially for the optical design and software. I am also using SDSS-IV MaNGA survey data to study environmental effects on galaxy kinematics.
I will be joining Steward Observatory (University of Arizona) in the 2019 fall semester as a postdoc to work with Prof. Erika Hamden.
